Special School Board Meeting Minutes

January 16, 2006 11:00 am

Members Present: Ramona Bear Hill, Lynn Halbert-DuBois, Timothy Peters, Della Eastman, Darell Decoteau

Others Present: Sherry Johnson, Deb Rumpza, Virginia Dolney, Student B and Parent

I. Call to Order/Establish Quorum

Quorum was established and the meeting was called to order at 11:10 am by Chairperson Ramona Bear Hill.

II. Student A Hearing

Motion #1 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to go into executive session. Seconded. Motion Carried.

Note: Parent and student did not attend the hearing.

Motion #2 by Timothy Peters to come out of executive session. Seconded. Motion Carried.

Motion #3 by Della Eastman to expel Student A for the remainder of the school year. Seconded. 4 votes aye, 1 abstain Motion Carried.

Recess: Break for lunch.

III. Student B Hearing

Motion #4 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to go into executive session. Seconded. Motion Carried.

Motion #5 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to come out of executive session. Seconded. Motion Carried.

Motion #6 by Timothy Peters to suspend Student B for 10 days including time served. Student B will be admitted back to Enemy Swim Day School under a contract that includes no further physical aggression, continue counseling and other support services. If the contract is not followed a board hearing for expulsion will be held. Seconded. Motion Carried.

IV. Adjournment

Chairperson Ramona Bear Hill declared the meeting adjourned at 2:17 pm.
