Special School Board Meeting Minutes

October 24, 2005 4:00 pm

 

Members Present:  Timothy Peters, Lynn Halbert-DuBois, Evelyn Blacksmith, Ramona Bear Hill, Della Eastman.

 

Others Present:  Sherry Johnson, Deb Rumpza (7:00 pm arrived), Darell Decoteau, Tammy Decoteau, Maryls Robertson, Lillian Owen, Rosalie Owen.

 

Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Bear Hill at 4:00 pm.

 

1. Policy review – Personnel section

The policies were reviewed and revised as needed.  Approximately half of the policies are completed.

 

2.  Ballot Counting

The following is the results of the voting for the two board positions:

 

Darell Decoteau                        52

Lynn DuBois                 50

Evelyn Blacksmith         30

 

Motion # 1 made by Della to accept the results of the voting.  Lynn will be seated in the capacity of parent and Darell will be seated in the capacity of at large.  Seconded. Motion Carried.

 

The meeting was adjourned by Chairperson Bear Hill.

 

 

The meeting was called to order by Superintendent Johnson.

 

1.  Oath of Office was taken by Lynn DuBois and Darell Decoteau.

 

2.  Chairperson

Superintendent Johnson opened the floor for nominations.

Tim Peters nominated Ramona Bear Hill. Seconded.

Lynn DuBois called for the nominations to cease. Seconded.

 

The meeting was turned over to Chairperson Bear Hill.

 

3.  Vice Chairperson

Lynn DuBois nominated Tim Peters. Seconded.

Lynn Duois called for the nominations to cease. Seconded.

 

Tim Peters is the Vice Chairperson of the Board.

 

4.  Recording Secretary

Motion #1 made by Della Eastman to appoint Deb Rumpza as the recording secretary.  Seconded. Motion Carried.

 

5. Reorganization

Motion #2 by Tim Peters that Dakotah Bank and ED Jones will be the banking institutions for the school.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #3 by Darell Decoteau to approve the following rates and the chain of authority:

 

$75.00 Sub Rates Education Staff, Security and Bus drivers are hourly

$75.00 Training Rates

$100.00 Regular Meeting Rates

$60.00 Special Meeting Rates

$150.00 Board Training Rates

38.5 mileage rate

$42.00 per diem

Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #4 by Lynn DuBois for a special board meeting November 1 at 4 pm to finish the policies.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.
