School Board Meeting Minutes

September 10th, 2008

Members Present: Ramona Bear Hill, Darell DeCoteau, Evelyn Blacksmith, Janell Bearhill, Lynn Halbert-DuBois (6:00pm arrived).

Others Present: Sherry Johnson, Virginia Dolney, Louie Johnson (left at 5:40pm)

I. Call to Order/Establish Quorum

Quorum was established and Chairperson Bear Hill called the meeting to order at 5:10 pm.

Motion #1 by Darell DeCoteau to approve the additions and deletions to the agenda. Seconded. Motion Carried.

II. School Community

1. Community

Discussed a parent concern/clarification of school work. Teacher will contact the parent. Another concern was discussed with Mrs. Dolney.

2. Student

a. Enrollment list

Motion #2 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the student enrollment list. Seconded. Motion Carried.

3. Personnel

a. Day Care Position

Motion #3 by Janell to advertise for the day care position. Seconded. Motion Carried.

Motion #4 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve Imelda Ryan – OST, Whitney Hopkins, Katrina LaCroix - OST, Cindy Shepherd - school wide pending a favorable background. Seconded. Motion Carried.

Motion #5 to Darell DeCoteau to approve the extra duty contracts Justin Kongi- 7/8 Boys Basketball, Darla McKernan- Learning Focused, and Virginia Dolney-Conscious Discipline. Seconded. Motion Carried.

Motion #7 by Darell DeCoteau to approve the Trainings Learning Focused for all new staff on 9/6/08 & 9/13/08, GEARUP for Carolyn Soles on 9/16-19/08, 21stCCLC for the OST team on 9/22/08, Extension training for the OST team leaders as presented onsite. Seconded. Motion Carried.

3. Monthly Voucher and Budget Approval

Motion #8 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the monthly vouchers and budget as presented. Seconded. Motion Carried.

4. Plow truck – truck $2900, new plow $4909, using old sander.

Motion #9 by Darell DeCoteau to approve the purchase of the plow truck for $2900.00 and a new plow for $4909.00. Seconded. Motion Carried.

Motion #10 by Darell DeCoteau to solicit sealed bids for the old plow truck as is by October 7^th, 2008. Seconded. Motion Carried.

Every five years all background check will be reprocessed.

2. **NCA Chair Marty Indian School

Motion #12 by Darell DeCoteau to approve Sherry Johnson to chair the NCA site visit for Marty Indian School on March 25^th and 26^th. Seconded. Motion Carried.
