School Board Meeting Minutes

May 8th, 2006 5:00 pm

 

Members Present:  Ramona Bear Hill, Timothy Peters, Della Eastman, Darell Decoteau, Lynn Halbert-DuBois

I.                  Call to Order/Establish Quorum

Quorum was established and the meeting was called to order by Chairperson Ramon Bear Hill at 5:10 pm.

1.  Sub Applications: Ivy Shepherd

Motion #1 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to approve the sub application for Ivy Shepherd pending background check.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

2.  Contracts: R. Johnson, Security, T. Lesnar, Facilities/Security.

Motion #2 by Darell Decoteau to offer contract for the 2006-2007 school year to Robin Johnson and Tony Lesnar with approved amounts.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

3.  Advertise for positions

Motion #3 by Darell Decoteau to advertise for the vacant positions:  2 night facility positions and 1 bus driver.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

III.           Approval of Minutes

1.     April 12, 2006

2.     May 2, 2006

Motion #4 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to approve the regular board meeting minutes from April 12, 2006 and the special board meeting from May 2, 2006.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

IV.            Financial Report

A.   Food Service Report - FYI

Motion #5 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to approve the training request for Connie Sauer to Read and Learn May 18-19, 2006.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

C.   Monthly voucher and budget review

Motion #6 by Timothy Peters to approve the monthly vouchers and the financial report as presented.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

D.   Bus

Motion #7 by Della Eastman to approve seek bids for a new school bus.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

E.    Extra Duty contract

Motion #8 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to approve the advertisement for the extra duty contracts with the addition of Accelerated Reader Coordinator and 8th Grade Advisor.

 

F.    Copier lease

Motion #9 by Darell Decoteau to lease the WC245 Xerox copier for 48 months starting July 2006.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

G.   Budgets

Motion #10 by Della Eastman to approve the preliminary 2006-2007 budgets as presented.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

                   A.  Approval of Assurances

Motion #11 by Darell Decoteau to approve the FACE Implementation Standards, the FACE assurances and the amendment request as presented by Teresa Shoemaker, FACE Coordinator.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #12 by Darell Decoteau to approve the IDEIA assurances and application as presented.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #13 by Darell Decoteau to approve the PL 107-110 Section 1112 assurances and application as presented.

 

Motion #14 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to approve the Title IV application.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #15 by Timothy Peters to approve the request from Dave White for the removal of the Quonset Building.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.
