Special School Board Meeting Minutes

April 24, 2007

 

 

Members Present:  Ramona Bear Hill, Della Eastman, Evelyn Blacksmith, Lynn Halbert-DuBois, Secretary Hopkins

 

Others Present:  Sherry Johnson, Deb Rumpza, Ellen Robertson

 

Quorum was established and the meeting was called to order by Chairperson Ramona Bear Hill at 4:45 pm.

 

Motion #1 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve board travel to NISBA July 24-26, 2007 in Denver CO.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #2 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to approve the purchase of 2 John Deere lawn tractors and attachments from the construction FF&E monies.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #3 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the list of furniture for the daycare and prepare the list for bids.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #4 by Della Eastman to offer a contract to Nicodemus Seaboy for the 2007-2008 school year.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #5 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to approve the architectural contract with Dave Todd in the amount of $26,480.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

 

 

 

Motion #6 by Evelyn Blacksmith to make up the two snow days on May 21 and May 22, 2007 and to hold the graduation Wacipi on May 22, 2007.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #7 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to approve the overnight trip for the FACE Center Base participants and staff on May 14-15, 2007 with expenses to come out of fund raising and FACE travel budget.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #8 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the purchase of 2 set of 5 row, 21’ bleachers from Highland Park to come out of construction FF&E monies.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #9 by Della Eastman to approve Crisis Management Training for Barb Danley on May 7, 2007.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #10 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the in-house transfer of Cameron Frank to Special Education Para-Educator for the 2007-2008 school year and to fill the vacant school year facilities position with applicant ranked #2 from interviews.  We will continue to advertise for the student services position.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #11 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to go into executive session.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #12 by Evelyn Blacksmith to come out of executive session.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #13 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the TANF budget in the same format as the 2006-2007 budget and to discuss employment contracts after Richard Keeble has approved the proposed budget.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Chairperson Ramona Bear Hill declared the meeting adjourned at 6:48 pm.
