School Board Meeting

March 14th, 2007 4:00 pm

 

Members Present:  Ramona Bear Hill, Lynn Halbert-DuBois, Evelyn Blacksmith, Darell Decoteau

 

Others Present:  Sherry Johnson, Deb Rumpza, Ed Johnson

 

                  I.  Call to Order/Establish Quorum

Quorum was established and the meeting was called to order by Chairperson Ramona Bear Hill at 4:50 pm.

 

Motion #1 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to amend the agenda as indicated (**).  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion # 2 by Darell Decoteau to go into executive session.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

Motion #3 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to come out of executive session.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

 

                  II. Community

                              A. Approval of student enrollment

Motion #4 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the student enrollments as presented.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

                              1.  Sub Applications – Charlianne Robertson,**Vonnie Seaboy

Motion #5 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the sub applications of Charlianne Robertson and Vonnie Seaboy pending successful background checks.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

 

                                          2.  Contracts- Instructional, Guidance,

Motion #6 by Darell Decoteau to offer contracts for the 2007-2008 school year to:  Mary Ann Aker, Rebekah Swanson, Sara Lorensberg, Amy Peckham, Joan Biersbach, John Roache, Misty Comes, Amalika Jackson, Darla McKernan and Jill Dick.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

                                          3.  Resignation

Motion #7 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to accept the resignations of Amy Martinell, Jane Looyenga and Mason Bissonette and to advertise for the open positions.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

                              III.  Approval of Minutes

Motion #8 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to approve the regular minutes from February 14, 2007 and the special board meetings of February 21 and 27 and March 12, 2007.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

                              A.  Food Service Report

                              B.  Training: See attached

Motion #9 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the following trainings:  Carolyn Soles – NASIS; Deb Rumpza – insurance; Barb Danley – CANS and Virginia Dolney – SDAESP.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

                              C.  Monthly voucher and budget review

Motion #10 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve the monthly vouchers and financial reports as presented.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

                                    D.  Bus bids

Motion #11 by Darell Decoteau to request bids for a new bus.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

                                    E.  Tractor bid

Ed will bring the full set of bids to the next regular meeting.

 

                                    F.  Milk coolers

Motion #12 by Darell Decoteau to approve the purchase of 2 stainless steel milk coolers out of construction FF&E funds.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

                                    ***G.  7/8th grade trip request

Bring request back to board at the next regular meeting with student/advisor representation.

Motion #13 by Lynn Halbert-DuBois to set the interview date for Friday, March 23, 2007 at 3:30 pm.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

Motion #14 by Evelyn Blacksmith to approve a collaboration with Sinte Gleska.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.

 

                              **D.  Special Board Meeting

Motion #15 by Darell Decoteau to set a special board meeting/hearing for Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 4:00 pm.  Seconded.  Motion Carried.
